Roto-Toad
Specs and Design Notes
Built to to solve a problem, the unique center arm design is all about hook-up ratio. When fishing normal toad style baits fish tend to strike behind the hook and as they slide off of the bait they usually take the feet with them. They are trying to get it, but the hook is forward of the attack point. With this design the attack point is well forward of the hook point and the action from the arms doesn’t fall behind the hook itself.
The Roto-Toad is basically a plastic buzzbait that churns it’s way through just about anything. The bait is also designed to cast long distances on a normal frog rod with braided line. This allows you cover a lot of water in a hurry, and also allows you to more easily reach fish without spooking them.
the Roto-Toad is a fun bait to fish. It creates a big commotion and the arm action is big and wild to get their attention once they see the bait. The hook up ratio is amazing for a bait of this type.
So give the Roto-Toad a try and fish heavy cover with the confidence that most of your bites are coming into the boat. We recommend a 5/0 or 6/0 wide gap or offset round bend hook. We also recommend the use of a Parasite Clip.
